Our long-awaited flight with K9 Jets was scheduled to depart on a Friday night at 9:00 p.m. from Teterboro , NJ Airport arriving at Le Bourget Airport just outside of Paris at 10:00 a.m. All ten passengers and their furry companions were requested to arrive an hour and a half early allowing the dogs to interact and acclimate to one another in a relaxed environment. We were all very excited to be flying with K9 Jets.
Adam, the owner of the company, had held an informational Zoom call with all of us two weeks prior to our flight, outlining what to expect during the journey and providing ample time for us to ask questions. From the moment we made our reservations until departure, both Adam and Emma were consistently available via email or phone. I even received a call from Adam addressing one of my concerns which added a thoughtful touch to the experience.
Arriving At The Airport
Upon arriving at the airport, a friendly customer service representative assisted me in unloading my car and arranged to return it to the rental office. The rental car process was a bit more complex than usual, because the airport was private. The rental agency required a corporate number for the reservation. Fortunately K9 Jets has a dedicated representative who can handle rental car reservations from international airports, which made the process seamless.
As we entered the stylish airport lounge area, we were warmly greeted by two delightful K9 representatives who took the time to engage with both me and my dogs. The waiting area was a cozy lounge, stocked with a variety of food options for both 4- legged and 2 -legged passengers. During our wait, we learned about the seating arrangements and who would be sitting across from whom. There was one elderly dog with medical issues who didn’t get along with others. That dog was thoughtfully seated in the spacious rear of the plane, ensuring he had ample room.
Flying with K9 Jets – The Plane
The plane featured a total of ten seats: eight comfortable single seats and two plush lounge seats in the back. Afterward, we were encouraged to let our dogs meet the ones they would be sitting across from. Outside there was plenty of green space for the dogs to walk on their leashes and socialize with other pups. I made it a point to take my dogs outside frequently ensuring they enjoyed plenty of outdoor time before boarding. This pre-flight was both relaxing and social, allowing us all to connect and bond with each other and our furry companions. The captain and crew introduced themselves and checked our passports during this time.
Unfortunately, our plane was unable to depart that evening due to mechanical issues and was rescheduled for the following day, Saturday at noon. Adam and Emma promptly arranged hotel accommodations for all of us and provided transportation both ways.
The Departure
The next day, we all returned to the airport an hour and half before our 12:00 p.m. takeoff. Boarding the plane was a swift process, and we took off right on schedule. I was fortunate enough to have an empty seat next to me. I was told could be used by Lucy, the bigger dog. The flight offered exquisite white-glove service, featuring a freshly made sandwich of your choice accompanied by a salad and beverage. Snacks were freely available throughout the flight. Remarkably, all the dogs behaved beautifully, spending most of the flight peacefully asleep.
Upon our arrival, we were met by customs. The entire process took only about 15 minutes. Then, we were in an Uber on our way to our accommodations for the night. Overall, the experience of flying with K9 Jets was exceptional for both the dogs and their owners. It was a true testament to the thoughtful planning and care provided by the K9 Jets team.
Thanks for being here,
-Soraya
