A little bit about me

As of April 2024 I retired for the 3rd time. I officially retired from my full-time job in 2013. I worked in a school as a therapist for 27 years. Since then I have worked for two other agencies in my town on a part-time basis.  I have two adult children; a son and daughter who are making their way in this world successfully, and most importantly happily. We continue to stay close and connected.

My entire life I have always played it safe. I was a single parent for many years and my goal was to ensure stability and predictability for my kids and myself. However, with that said,  we loved our adventures whether they were around our area or on vacations. Overall, I took the “road most traveled”  and I have absolutely no regrets. I loved every single minute and have forever wonderful memories.

Retirement

Now that I am retired I feel that I am savoring life more and so ready to spread my wings. I have begun to  pay attention to things that are now important. I am ready to step out of my comfort zone and try something completely different. In the past five years my daughter and I have traveled to several places in Europe. Having traveled with her has ignited something in me. Which brought me to wanting to experience living in Europe. My mom’s family is from the Netherlands and I lived there as a young person. So, I have made a decision for the first time in my life with the support of my children, that is solely for me and very very out of the box for me.

I will be moving to France in mid October 2024 with my 2 dogs for 3 months, maybe longer, TBD. Along the way, I will be sharing the good, bad, and funny which I am sure there will be plenty. I have a family reputation of not having a great sense of direction which has nonetheless resulted in some very unexpected and memorable family road trips. I am excited and yet a bit overwhelmed at the same time, but I have made this decision with my heart and will more than ever allow vulnerability to help me discover new experiences from a place of compassion for myself and others. You can find me living in the present moment and embracing the unknown to create meaningful experiences and memories.

So if you are a person who is looking for:
